Your Role

Responsible for delivering tax exempt and taxable municipal bond solutions to Financial Advisors and their end clients. The role partners closely with municipal trading and broader fixed income teams to provide market insight, trade ideas, and best execution outcomes across primary and secondary markets. The ideal candidate combines strong market acumen with a consultative sales mindset, helping advisors navigate portfolio construction, reinvestment, swaps, and after tax return optimization for high net worth and ultra high net worth clients.

The UGM Capital Markets Municipal Sales role sits on the Municipal Sales Desk within UGM.

Your Expertise

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a primary Municipal Bond sales coverage resource for Wealth Management advisors, supporting client driven and proactive trade execution across tax exempt and taxable municipals.
• Deliver daily municipal bond offerings and targeted trade ideas aligned to market conditions, client objectives, and regional demand.
• Partner with municipal trading desks to ensure best execution, competitive pricing, and transparent market color for advisors and clients.
• Support portfolio construction, laddering strategies, reinvestment opportunities, and municipal bond swaps to optimize after tax outcomes.
• Provide market commentary and education on municipal credit, supply/demand dynamics, yield curve movements, and relative value.
• Participate in advisor meetings, client education sessions, and internal sales forums to promote municipal bond capabilities and solutions.
• Maintain strong knowledge of compliance, suitability, and risk frameworks applicable to municipal securities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Prior experience in municipal bond sales, fixed income sales, trading, or related capital markets role.
• Basic understanding of municipal bond structures, tax considerations, credit fundamentals, and market mechanics.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented sales and trading environment.
• FINRA Series 7 and Series 63.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience covering Wealth Management or private client channels.
• Familiarity with portfolio construction tools, municipal analytics, and fixed income platforms.
• Proven track record of advisor engagement and solution oriented selling.
• Strong collaboration skills with trading, underwriting, and broader capital markets partners.

Salary Information

The indicative gross base salary range as a full-time equivalent role:
