Leadership role acting as the primary day-to-day portfolio manager for MSEV’s $1.3+ billion CLO tranche investing business, reporting to the Co-Heads of CLO Management.

  • Source, analyze, and trade CLO tranches (AAA through equity) in the primary and secondary markets.
  • Evaluate relative value across managers, vintages, structures, and collateral profiles.
  • Perform structural and collateral analysis, including tranche cash flow dynamics and stress scenarios.
  • Provide thought leadership on how to achieve both future growth in our tranche business as well as operational efficiencies on the platform.
  • Act as a representative for MSEV’s CLO business with internal and external counterparties, including attending industry conferences and manager roadshows throughout the year.
  • Perform critical internal and external compliance tasks related to both the issuance and tranche investing businesses, including formal investment write-ups and AUP reporting in collaboration with other members of the MSEV CLO team.

5+ years of experience at either an existing CLO tranche manager or sell-side CLO role.

  • Must have prior experience analyzing CLO structures and legal documents.
  • Strong communication skills are critical as well as a desire to have a leadership role within the Fixed Income business at MSIM.
  • Strong analytical skills and a desire to build out internal investment monitoring capabilities.
  • Willingness to work in a more entrepreneurial environment at a manager with strong infrastructure and brand awareness looking to grow.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $125,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
