MetLife Investment Management is seeking a motivated Residential Whole Loan Analyst to join our Residential Whole Loan Trading team, working closely with the Transaction Management group. This role provides hands-on exposure across the entire whole loan trading platform, including trading, due diligence, transaction management, portfolio management, reporting, and client allocation.

The Analyst will play a key role in supporting day‑to‑day Transaction Management operations, ensuring high-quality execution, maintaining strong data integrity, and helping drive the continued growth and efficiency of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Transaction Management and trading teams throughout all stages of the trade lifecycle, including tracking progress and ensuring smooth execution and settlement.
  • Assist with new trade setup by reviewing transaction details, understanding diligence requirements, and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Coordinate with third‑party vendors to order required due diligence products; track results, upload completed materials and request additional items when needed.
  • Engage with clients and sellers, supporting relationship management and responding to information requests.
  • Perform analysis and provide insights into final diligence results and exceptions by seller and product type, identifying trends and risk drivers.
  • Monitor loan performance by product type, identifying trends and potential gaps, and recommending enhancements to due diligence profiles.
  • Support the client allocation process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across the whole loan trading platform to support critical business initiatives.
  • Demonstrate initiative and curiosity—continually seeking to understand processes, systems, and the broader marketplace to enhance team effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or Mathematics.
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with comfort working with data and detailed information.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the full Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with internal teams and external partners.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and eager to learn, with the ability to take direction and work independently when needed.
