What You’ll Be Doing

The role will be critical to assisting the CLO desk with structuring analysis and portfolio reviews as well as providing marketing product for the sales force to discuss and distribute to clients.  This information should have direct positive impact on the desk’s P&L. This candidate will be responsible for modeling and documentation negotiation.. This role will also work closely with our Warehouse Team in Toronto to discuss the CLO warehouses.  As the U.S. GCF team grows, it is possible this role may expand to other products.

  • Learn CLO Documentation
  • Work with the sales force to get documentation stips on time and learn what clients need
  • Work with structuring leads to learn how to model CLO Deals
  • Work with managers to analyze portfolios
  • Learn how to work with Rating Agencies and Law Firms on our deals
  • Work with Syndicate to achieve optimal results on our delas
  • Help differentiate CIBC and elevate our research profile.

You can demonstrate experience with:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in related field (Economics, Finance, Business, Accounting, Computer Science)
  • Series 7 and 63 is required.
  • Thorough understanding of the financial markets and market influences, including general current affairs.
  • Ability to deal with the inherent conflict between the sales and trading functions, and maintain a strong position in the face of opposition.
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with clients and staff.
  • Ability to relay complex news/developments in a concise/clear manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
