What You’ll Be Doing

To continue the expansion of SEF and the portfolio of Corporate Equity Derivative transactions in North America for CIBC core Clients.  This will involve:

  • Identify new transaction opportunities for CIBC leveraging existing client relationships, including with corporates, private equity funds, family offices, insurance companies, mutual fund companies and other asset managers
  • Manage the approval, negotiation and execution processes of SEF transaction
  • The primary focus will including NAV financings, margin loans, and Corporate Equity Derivatives, as appropriate
  • Manage transaction bookings, hedges and risk management for SEF products
  • Coordinate with EQD trading on the approval, execution and risk management aspects of vol-based Corporate Equity Derivative products
  • Coordinate with Delta1 trading and other teams on transaction approval and execution

How You’ll Succeed

Responsible for executing transactions within CIBC’s risk framework and achieving target returns associated with the SEF transaction portfolio. The candidate will be expected to comfortably manage the complete transaction lifecycle. This includes transaction origination, securing internal committee approvals, client negotiations and overseeing the transaction execution, booking and risk management.

Providing timely support to Capital Markets Sales Teams associated with SEF transaction opportunities, including partnering in pitches, transaction assessment and structural proposals.

Ensure close cooperation with other CIBC Capital Markets financing activities across Investment Banking, Equity Derivatives, Prime Brokerage and Global Credit Finance, to maximize CIBC Client opportunities and cross product capabilities.

Who You Are

  • Undergraduate degree. Graduate degree/MBA preferred;
  • Work experience analyzing, presenting, and implementing structured financings, margin loans, NAV financings, and equity derivatives;
  • Highly motivated, good team player;
  • Attention to detail and proven financial analysis and structuring capability;
  • Strong preexisting client relationships;
  • Approximately 5-10 years of relevant SEF product experience at a bank including syndicated financings and volatility-based Corporate Equity Derivative transactional experience.
