What You’ll Be Doing

Assisting in the development and execution of structured finance transactions for CIBC’s institutional clients. These transactions are designed to achieve targeted leverage objectives and may be structured across a variety of formats, including loans, total return swaps (TRS), repurchase agreements (repo), credit default swaps (CDS), and rated secured or unsecured bonds.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Assist in development of term sheets for credit focused financing transactions, private placements and risk syndication transactions
  • Assist in development of cash flow modelling for credit focused financing transactions, private placements and risk syndication transactions
  • Develop marketing decks for capital markets/treasury functions of alternative focused clients/credit asset managers/sponsors
  • Assist in research of bank regulatory capital/insurance regulatory capital for structured finance transactions to get optimal capital treatment for CIBC and insurance clients
  • Assist in preparation of borrowing base templates for structured finance transactions
  • Research markets and products to produce insightful content for CIBC management and clients
  • Assist in doc negotiation for transactions

Who You Are

  • Degree educated (BA or equivalent), with at least 2-5 years’ experience in the industry
  • Knowledge of structured finance solutions and experience in closing highly structured transactions
  • Experience with insurance solutions and fourth-trigger CDS a plus
  • Cash flow modelling skills and term sheet preparation skills for structured finance transactions
  • Strong PowerPoint skills to deliver content for CIBC institutional clients
  • Strategic thinking capability with ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities.
  • In-depth understanding of governance and regulatory requirements as it relates to Global Markets
  • Highly developed interpersonal and networking skills.

Pay Transparency

This role has an expected salary range of $150,000-$225,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
